Ventia Awarded Defence Firefighting Services Contract

Ventia will continue its strategic partnership with Defence after securing a 6-year, $564 million contract for Firefighting Services today. The new contract will commence in 2024 and has options for extension beyond 2030. The contract represents a transformation in scale and commitment to integrated working, with a service offering providing value for money for the Commonwealth, Defence and Ventia. It encompasses airfield, structural and bushfire response, emergency and rescue services, fire training and Hazmat response. Ventia has the largest privatised firefighter force in Australia and has been responding to Defence emergencies since 1999. With the award of this Firefighting Services contract, Ventia’s Firefighting force grows to a team of 370 people, including 309 qualified Firefighters.
