FY24 Climate-related Disclosures Exemption

30 August 2024 2024 CLIMATE-RELATED DISCLOSURES EXEMPTION Works Finance (NZ) Limited (Works Finance) is a climate reporting entity and is relying on the Financial Markets Conduct (Climate-related Disclosures – Works Finance (NZ) Limited) Exemption Notice 2024 (Exemption) in respect of its accounting period ending on 30 June 2024. The effect of relying on the Exemption is to exempt Works Finance from Part 7A of the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013, so that Works Finance is not required to comply with its climate-related disclosure obligations, including the requirement to prepare and lodge a climate statement and associated assurance and record keeping requirements, provided that certain conditions specified in the Exemption are met. Those include that Works Finance’s ultimate parent company, Downer EDI Limited (Downer) will prepare and lodge group climate statements for its global business (including Works Finance).
